This dining chair set arrived to us with marred wood, matted cushions, and missing wheels. The fabric on the underside of the chairs was also frayed and no longer properly secured. We began restoring the chairs by stripping, staining and sealing the wood to promote a livelier appearance. We then replaced the wheels for each mobile leg. Finally, we added new cushioning and fabric to the chairs. We preserved the ornate character of the set by maintaining the original seat shape and installing gold buttons around the base of the seat, which gave the illusion that the buttons secured the fabric.
